GREG W. TRAYLOR, Attorney

Born and raised in Macon County, Greg returned to his hometown of Lafayette in January of 2016.  In his practice at the Law Office of A. Russell Brown, Greg defends clients charged with crimes, seeks justice for those harmed by the actions of others, and is involved in numerous civil and commercial litigation matters.  Greg was selected as a 2017 “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers magazine.  When he is not in the office, Greg enjoys riding his motorcycle, camping, and fishing. 

Before coming home, Greg practiced law in Atlanta, Georgia, for over five years.  While there, he practiced with one of Georgia’ top personal injury law firms and litigated catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, and product liability cases.  In Atlanta, Greg also worked at one of Atlanta’s largest and most reputable law firms practicing commercial litigation.  His experience ranges from representation of owners, contractors, and design professionals on complex industrial, commercial, and residential projects, to representation of an international aerospace supplier in trade secret litigation.  Greg has experience in government contracting, real estate and other business litigation, regulatory investigations, and construction contract negotiation and drafting. 

A graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School, Greg was Managing Editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review and a Dean’s Scholar. While in law school, he was awarded the Lightfoot, Franklin & White Best Brief Award, received Scholastic Excellence Awards in legal writing, and published his note, Big Tobacco, Medicaid-Covered Smokers, and the Substance of the Master Settlement Agreement, in the Vanderbilt Law Review.  During law school, Greg also clerked for the Davidson County District Attorney’s Office in Nashville, Tennessee, where he served as assistant to the counsel in trial, provided legal research, and drafted motions and briefs.

A magna cum laude graduate of Western Kentucky University, Greg received his B.A. in Philosophy and Psychology. After completing his undergraduate studies, he worked for the Social Security Administration in Kentucky and Montana.

Greg was a Barrister in the Joseph Henry Lumpkin American Inn of Court and is admitted to practice in all state courts of Tennessee and Georgia, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.  He is also a member of Tennessee Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the American Association for Justice, and the American Bar Association.
